The wife and I recently bought a new washer and dryer from Lowes.
With I purchase we received a $100.00 gift card. Just wondering what
some of you would buy with it in regards to penturning. Maybe an
inexpensive scroll saw ?:)

Good drill press. I got rid of my $39 Harbor Freight last year. I worked with it for 4 years.
I got a Delta from Lowes, and I don't know how I lived without it.

Time to replace the old bandsaw now...

I am a firm believer that a tablesaw should be the mainstay of any shop.
If you can tweak it and build an accurate sled(not one just good enough for cutting blanks) then the T.S. would be the way to go.
From what I have seen, Any new benchtop table saw in the $100.00 range aren't worth the money.
It depends on the accuracy you want and what you are willing to put up with to get it.
I would almost buy a good circular saw and mount it upside down on a piece of plywood and make my own fences.

Bryan, I'm with Eagle on cheap TS's. Bought one and was soon unhappy w/it. When it comes to TS's, get a good contractor or cabinet model. You won't be sorry. Concerning the $100, use it for something else you need if you aren't ready to spend that much.

Um, doesn't the weed wacker mess up the bushings? I mean you can get close, but you lose a little control from 3 feet away.
