Here are 2 pens that represent my first segment effort. These may not make the production box for most of you segment wizards, but hey ..

The first is cherry and part of an old cedar fence.

The second is old cedar fence and teak. (segmenting is maple and padauk)

Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

No hints in particular, except keep up the great work. I like the basic lines that keep the pens simple but confortable to look at.
Thanks for showing.

I cut all the peices on my table saw.

The major segments were cut using my miter on my table saw. It is a very good one which I have used in past for trim and molding. I think is gives precise angle cuts.

The maple and paduak bands were cut with a jig I built a few years back to make thin banding strips for facing on furniture. I can go 1/16 width wo much effort. I can get 1/32 width (consistent), if I make sure to tune everything before using.
