I've been piecing this together for several nights now. Far from perfect, but I enjoy making this design. I blew the bottom out three times and split the middle once. It all came back together though. Had to leave it a little fat because my alignment was slightly off.

Very nice pattern. Refine your technique to minimize the blowouts and I think another like this without so many events during turning will be stunning.

I'd like to toss in some C&C Steve...you have a great start here!!
There is a lot of gap between the aluminum...metal could have a sharper angle. The end caps may look better with another segment rather than a thin cap.
These are not easy, you have done really nice stuff right out of the gate!! Keep it up!

It looks really nice, the more pens I make the more I realize like a lot of things in life, I learn more from what goes wrong then what goes perfect.
