Segmenting with tru-stone part 1

Thanks for the photo essay! Appreciate your displaying your technique. Really looking forward to seeing the finished product. What are you using to do your cutting? Obviously, it's very precise. And Trustone blanks are not cheap. That speaks to a certain level of self-confidence! Russ

Oh, wait. Are you using the miter box and back saw you displayed a few days ago? Maybe there WAS life before power tools! Still, your measurements are right on the money. Russ

90 percent of the cutting this time was done with the bandsaw.I only used the oldtimer for the inlays on the yellow dino.

As far as being precice I realized after a couple cuts I should have squared up the blade to the sled and not to the table.Either that or my table is moving on me.

The veins on the main blank make it pretty busy. Anorexic solid color would look great. Otherwise looks like a good segment.

The black one is great!! The yellow...maybe has to much yellow. The red seg's are sweet, but maybe connect them? I understand the effort to place them so they have that gap, tough job and nice work! Maybe the red and yellow are a little off from each other?
Now...precision is amazing and the effort to put these together was a major undertaking! Please keep it up!!

It's alot easier to leave the inlay seperated.I have a terrible time gauging what the depth of cut should be to intersect without going over and have that intersection come together at final diameter.
