Not a pen, a telescopeing magnetic pick up wand, but you get the idea. Made of Bloodwood, Spalted Maple, colored veneer, and Pic-Guard. Jim S

Cast, segmented Black Walnut shells with Pearlex Black Carbon and Super Copper Powders added to the mix.

Camelthorn with brass segmenting and padauk accents

I had never heard of camelthorn before but saw a blank at the local wood store. I would definitely turn it again. Beautiful wood!
Working in brass was a challenge since it is so much harder than aluminum.

I tried segmenting again today. The first one was not very good. So I learned from that one and made this one from the leftovers of the last segment pen.

Baron - Rhodium - African Blackwood/Bloodwood with aluminum (Thanks to Frank Nemke, Sr) for sending me the aluminum.
