I suggest a diagonal line top left frame to lower right rather than top right to lower left as shown for the pen. Our eyes make a "z" movement when viewing a photo that starts top left and ends lower right so having the pen in that line is easier on the eyes.

This may be why artists sign their work lower right - to be noticed.
