Default Texas Sampler Pen Blanks

Here is a sample of some of the pen blanks that I have.

Texas Ebony: Its a Texas Persimmon from deep South Texas. It is a very dense wood that takes an amazing polish. I do not have very much to offer.

Agerita: This is a small holly that grows localy The wood is a rich yellow that dose not fade. The blank is a branch so it is on a different axis than most pen blanks. The dose have a small check. It can be repaired with a bandsaw cut or what I do is fill it with black epoxy. I have also made natural edge pens with these blanks.

Black Walnut Root: This is walnut root that we harvested a few years ago. It is nice not burl or highly figured but still has very unique characteristics.

Eastern Soapwood: It is a small local tree. I use it because of the high contrast between the sap and heartwood. Be warned it smells bad.

Red Cedar: I really do not know what specific species this is but it is unique. The tree came from Ennis, TX in a load, but it was different than the others. We sold the mantles for twice what we sold the others for. It is very highly figured great contrast top notch cedar.

Mesquite: It is my bread and butter people pay me to get it off their place, people want to pay me to let them burn it, but best of all I get to make stuff out of it. The problem is I have too much. These are 2 blanks they are both crosscut near the pith but not too close. They both show slight figure. They were pulled out of the blanks I wholesale because they are better.

The longest blanks are 6 in. long and 1 in square. There also will be 5 small diameter agerita used as filler. If you are good you may get a slimline but I put them in a blank on a crosssection. The Pens are Agerita and Mesquite.

The lot is $21.00 including shipping. I will answer to the first person to post on the thread via PM. I also have other balnks that need to be sold. PM me if you are interested.

I would be interested in a box of Mesquite.
Nobody on their deathbed ever said "I wish I would have worked longer".
