Default Bakelite Rods-CLOSED

[I've sold all I am willing to part with but I have some new material coming in - stay tuned]

I haven't received them yet but I have the three rods in the picture coming from an eBay auction. My final cost was $220 for the three. I'd like to sell one of the rods at my cost plus shipping just to defray the investment. Or cut some blanks if that works out better. The rods are about 1.25" in diameter and 17.5" long.

Reference for the auction is

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220257439699

PM me if you're interested. I'll put a picture of a pen up once the rods arrive. It's OK if no one is interested - it looks like this is really nice stuff.

Marc

Would love to help you out Marc, but that is why we do not buy from them. The price is too high for what we use it for. They have some great pieces that I would love to turn. Problem for us is it is not a medium that was really used on pens. If that was red hard rubber I would be all over it. :)

Default I don't disagree,

But two of the pens I made from Dawn's bakelite sold before I was even done with them. And at higher than normal prices. I suddenly realized it might be a good idea to have a stock and that $25 a blank wasn't as outrageous as it sounded at first. I'd love to get a shot at the red rods but he's got them grouped at high prices.

And working bakelite is really fun!!

That being said, I won't be upset if I get to keep all of them.

Marc

Hi Marc, I might be interested in trying a blank if you decide to cut one up;)

I think I've promised enough of this match as I can make available. Stay tuned, though.
