Well, I finally bit the bullet and put in an order for a PM 1228. The plan is to mount it on an extremely solid white oak bench that I built about 30 years ago.
What I want to do is to let in a couple of pieces of 3/8" steel plate bedded in epoxy and leveled with each other for the lathe to rest on. Unfortunately, I don't have the precise dimensions of the mounting pads of the 1228. Talked to Matt at Precision Matthews and he doesn't know them either. There is a drawing online from which I can get the length fairly accurately, however the width is shown at an angle, so any measurements are pretty dodgy.
Does anybody own one who could take the measurements and pass them on to me?
