Midas 1220 XL Lathe⋅Mill⋅Drill by Smithy

Does anyone know anything about these machines or have any opinions? I am hurting for space but have the metal working bug now. There is one for sale on CL locally with a lot of tooling that I may be interested in. Any thought would be appreciated.

You'll probably get a good lathe, but the milling won't be all that good. I picked up a similar machine (craftex b2071) a few years ago for scrap price and the lathe is very acceptable. Some wear on the ways which causes a slight taper (.005 in the last 4").

The mill is just sloppy. With everything locked except for axis of cut you can watch the mill head move

Check it out and see if you try a test cut. If the price is right I would buy it.
