Hi all. I'm new to working with a metal lathe. I was wondering if there were any recommendations for a lathe to get that would be good but not too expensive (preferably not complicated to work with).

what is your budget? There are several threads on lathe recommendations in this forum. Price point may dictate some of your choices.

You need to define everything you want to do with it to get a valid recommendation.

For some purposes a little 7x10 is fine and for others something much larger and more sophisticated is needed.

Reasonably priced and often overlooked are the 9x20 lathes, sometimes the best choice for a small home shop but nowhere near as versatile as the larger 10x or 12x lathes (and nowhere near as heavy either if that is a concern).
