I think Mike Kennedy bought one of those. Haven't talked to him in awhile. I don't recall him having anything negative to say about it. That's not a very good photo. Looks like they were running out of ink.

Jet's been selling those 9 x 20's longer than about anyone.

If the price is good and the machine is in good condition it would probably be a good one to buy.

Usually when buying a used lathe (assuming good condition) the extra tooling that usually comes with it is what makes the best deal.

From what I understand the 9x20's are all made in the same factory in China. The Jet has a bit better reputation then the Harbor Freight.
There are pages and pages of alterations and upgrades to these just do a goggle search on 9x20 lathes.

Here is an article you should read before purchasing a used one - I did.

I have a 9x20 metal lathe and like it very much, ideal szie fo penturners.

Mine has electronic variable speed, which is a real bonus, and also a 2 axis DRO.

Mine also has a camlock on the tailstock while most of these lathes just have a nut.

I reckon you can't go wrong with one of these.

There is more info on these lathes and modifications to them here:

Here are some pics of mine
