This is a welding jacket which is also sold by woodturning stores. I've wanted one for a long time and ran across the identical item on Ebay. $27.85 and free shipping.

I've added a small metal mill to my Sherline equipment and got my share of hot aluminum while facing on it. Plus hot oil from steel. This jacket is cotton, buttons up around the neck and tightly around sleeves. A perfect turning jacket IMHO. It's worth a look:

I own two of the them one black one tan and love them. Since titanium burns I do not recomend you grind it any more Ed. I have seen a titanium fire once and when it starts to burn, there is really nothing you can do to stop it until its burned out.
But I highly recommend the jacket.

No longer confused....
you can still grind titanium, yes it is a class D fire hazard but if you work around that and take the correct precautions you are good to go. I have ruined several jackets due to titanium.

Titanium fires and sparks are fairly easy to put out fyi.
