Pen is for information only, Vermont soapstone is relatively soft. I have cut it with a wood blade on a bandsaw. Drilled with standard bit, but carbide would work better in the long run. It will eventually dull steel. I turn it with a ugly rasp to get it close to finish size and then sand to completion. Leave the ends slightly oversize and round the pen part ends. If you try to go to finish size,
you risk end breakage. The top 2 are minimum 3/4" and the rest are 5/8"
minimum. One side natural stone face and they may be rectangular.
