Japanese Yew Pen / Bowl Blanks

I would first like to thank my customers and my fellow disabled and all veterans. Yes I am a disabled vet.

OK folks I was very lucky to get this. I have been turning for over 25 years, and selling wood for maybe 8 years to help pay the bills disability does not pay much. This is the first time I have seen this wood, and it may very well be the last.

Japanese yew is an ornamental tree and just does not get cut down by anyone. There are also very few in the USA. This wood has a very cool fleck and iradenses about it. Some of the pieces when there polished have almost a 3d look about them when you twist them in the sunshine. Also the color varies from yellow to a brownish cream color.

This stuff is so hard to get, that there is a guy on ebay from Japan that sells pens made from this wood and he sells them for 250 to 485 dollars a piece. Yes he gets that much folks look him up.

OK here is the bottom line. I have 200 Pen Blanks cut at this time.

90 = 7/8" × 7/8" × 5 1/2" at $3.00 dollars each. I can get 20 in a flat rate envelope.

Bowl Blank # 1 = 4 1/2" x 9" x 10" Ships in a large flat rate box. Price = $40.00
Bowl Blank # 2 = 3 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 8 3/4" Ships in a Med flat rate box. Price = $30.00
Bowl Blank # 3 = 2 3/8" x 5 3/4" x 5 5/8" Ships in flate rate envelope. Price = $20.00
Bowl Blank # 4 = 4" x 8" x 8 1/2" Ships in Med flat rate box. Price = $30.00
