If you haven't turned crosscut blanks before, I recommend coating the drilled hole with thin CA before gluing in the tube. This will help strengthen the fibers and minimize chances of a blowout. Let the glue dry for a day or two, then run your drill bit back through the hole to remove excess glue before gluing your tube in. Use sharp tools and take light cuts, especially as you get close to final diameter. Crosscut blanks take a little more care than straight cut blanks, but the results are worthwhile, especially when the wood has nice grain like this.
