Solid gold, IMHO, would be very soft. Check with a jeweler and get a professional opinion, though.

Mike is the man! He has made custom silver parts for me that exceeded my expectations. The most expensive pen I have sold is a Mickey Mouse watch pen - Mike made Sierra-like parts in solid silver. It sold for $3500. It would have been a $700 pen with the standard parts.



Correction - the pen was Silver with a Franck Muller dial, and a bad photo:

There were two Mickey pens @ $700 with regular Sierra parts in that sale.
