I love bocote and my customers agree. The problem is getting highly figured stuff which gets selected out before you can buy it by the seller. Almost as fast as I make items using bocote; they sell. These ten (10) blanks measure 3-3/4" long x 3/4" x 3/4"+ (almost square) and will make anything you make from them sell quickly. Sierras, shave handles, shave kit stands, stratus and many more kits can be made from these.

Magnify the photos to see the excellent figure and the effect of diagonally cutting the wood. There is some sapwood which can be a plus or cut off if you don't like it.

I suggest that you slow down a bit when turning any diagonally cut wood and pay attention to the ends; turn them down first. I just turned one to make a razor handle and it was fairly easy. I like the resultant handle even before sanding and finish.

$37 including flat rate small box shipping to CONUS.

Looks a little like Zebra wood with the light grain running through it. Nice wood either way.

It is bocote, absolutely so and to me nothing like zebrawood. It is part of a six foot stick purchased from Austin Hardwoods and Hardware. I have a standing request for certain woods if a piece comes through of note, they came through. They always come through with superb stuff. When I search for African mahogany I can go through up to a hundred that they have in the rack to pick the ones I want. Great place.

I am not questioning you but I have some zebra wood that has some of the same grain patterns. Zebra wood comes from various places. I have bacote also so I do know how well those grain patterns look. Have to love Mother Nature when it comes to wood grains. Good luck in the sales.
