Grouping these together because all are very interesting (to me, at least) from a "look at this wood" perspective, but all are also a little off in some way. Most did not start life as pen blanks but were trims from some other use of rare wood.
As always with mine, please post in thread if you want something, and then we will work out details via pm. Prices do not reflect shipping, which is US only and $4 for up to four blanks and $7.25 for more up to 20.
Here goes:
Group 1: Katalox burl, bois de rose, and black ironwood / krugiodendron ferreum (hardest US wood, look it up). Asking $10. All really hard to find, but all really tight. Each is 0.6" square, 4.75" to 5" long. Second pic shows end grain of bois de rose to show the color is in there.
Group 2: three afzelia burl, 5.1 x 0.7 x 0.7". Asking $10. Cut with pins on the end, rays on the side. This is an odd cut bc weaker - cut w care. But I do believe all are solid, and will look really unusual.
Group 3: three Katalox burl, one Katalox regular. Asking $7. Basically 5 x 0.75" sq. Shows the range of this wild species.
Group 4: 3 madrone burl, asking $10. Normal blanks, 5 x 0.75" sq, just hard to find good stock (has to be pressure cook and then dried for years - tough to get good material).
Group 5: six c grade pink ivory, asking $5. Generally 5 x 0.75", but some variation. Love the wood, but these are all a little off W some weak color, one small size, several w sap. Still hard and dry, polish up nice.
If anyone wants all of them, let's call it $45 shipped. Just for making my life easier.
