Have you found a finish that seals & protects the wood but lets the smell come through? Would be a shame to waste it!!

I wipe it down with DNA, then use a sanding sealer before I do the CA finish.

Little secret, but don’t tell anyone... I keep an old perfume spritzer with some Jack in it. Before a show, I very lightly mist the JD pens. Trust me when I tell you that sales go up.

And...it also works as an aftershave, antibiotic ointment, cleaner, degreaser. Almost more versatile than WD-40 and Windex combined!! Just don't use it to freshen your breath as the Officer approaches your car window!!

Was the barrel empty when you got it? If it was full, you could probably get lots of volunteers to help empty it.
