I have been given a load of boards whose wood species is unknown. The wood once belonged to a doctor, but then there was a divorce, the wood was put into a crawl space for a decade, and all remembrance of what it is was lost.

There are at least 2 different species. I am thinking white oak & cumuru, but I am not a well-versed mystery wood identifier.

I have cut it into 1" x 1" x 5". Some of the blanks have a some checking on the edges but the centers of the blanks look good.

I would like to trade a small U.S.P.S. priority mailing box full of blanks for the same. Anything unusual and interesting wold be great.

More than anything, I am interested in someone helping me identify the mystery woods.

Thanks.

Here is a photo. I am fairly certain th lighter and darker brown wood is oak...sure looks like it to me. The rose brown....not sure. The grain does not look quite right to be purpleheart. The top 2 blanks show the checking which has developed a small black stripe around.
