I visited a British cabinet company's local showroom and the manager told me of a lady that ordered six figures worth of quarter sawn oak cabinets and demanded that they substitute straight grained oak instead. She happily paid a significant up-charge for the special request.

It must be the same lady that has ordered a fountain pen with buckeye burl, dyed red, with no "ugly knots" or other stuff in the wood. To quote Huey Lewis, "She gets what she wants."

Does anyone have a clear piece of red dyed, stabilized buckeye wood or burl? I'm also looking for a postable Jr. Gent II rhodium fountain kit.

I have cash and some stabilized, cross-cut palm from CSUSA to trade.

Chris, I've got a slab of buckeye that's part burl part hardwood. Mostly blonde so it'll dye nicely. I'll have to cut it up to go to it but it might just be what you're after. If you can PM me your email I'll send over a pic tomorrow to see if it'll work for ya.
