New to turning need some tools,info,etc.

Hello new to turning need some used tools, the only thing I have now is a second hand lathe HF model I will be looking at getting some quality tools when I get comfortable with turning..my needs, gouge,skew,mt#2 mandrel extra psi bushings.I am not looking for hand outs just cheap tools I can learn on. If no tools for sale your information on where to buy and what to start with is much appreciated. Thank you from down south Robert

I think your best bet it to keep watching these ads. Most members sell off their excess tools and stuff at very reasonable prices.

Harbor Freight has an 8 piece set for under $20. My wife uses them with success.

Cheap tools--even some expensive tools--are NOT going to be sharp when they're brand new.
You have to sharpen and hone them.
Don't skip sharpening unless the manufacturer states their tools are sharp and honed properly.
For example, Thompson is one maker who does sharpen although they're not cheap.
