Hi everyone,

I posted last time looking for pepper mill blanks, and I got great response and ended up with a whole bunch of great wood for great prices - thanks!

I am looking for burled slabs - not punky - for making reed cases with. I have Christmas orders just starting - and that's a popular request.

If anyone has slabs for sale or trade - please let me know.

Best,
Roger Garrett

What dimensions do you need?

I've got some boxelder burl if that's of interest (and if it meets your size requirements.)

Minimum dimensions are 9 inches long X 4.5 inches deep X 1 inch thick (could be thinner, but I like some extra to work with).

For the longer cases, I need 10 inches long with the other dimensions the same.

I'll check what I've got, I think the size would work.

Sorry, I just measured up and none of the pieces I found meet the 9" length requirement (and they are only 13/16" thick).

The 9 inch requirement is not necessary for most of what I do...............

13/16 is probably ok - almosst 7/8 and over 3/4 is in the range.

Pictures?

I'll try to take pix and post them tonight. Might have some other burly stuff too.

Hi Roger -- here's pix of the pieces I can find. On the irregular pieces, I drew the largest rectangle I could make that has no inclusions/voids and gave the dimensions of that.
