Cleaning shop - I'm getting ready to scale back how much turning of pens I'll be doing until next winter in favor of building some furniture and other items on my ever growing project list. Over the winter my pen blank collection has grown exponentially and I simply have too many. I need to clear out some space on the shelves!

Prices do not include shipping, unless noted. Payment by PayPal.

Tried to give a couple pictures of most of the lots so you have a better idea of what you'd be getting.

1. Quilted & Curly Big Leaf Maple cut-offs. Various sizes and thicknesses. Ranging from under 1/2" to about 3/4" thick. Fills a medium flat rate box. $17 shipped in the US.

2. Medium Flat Rate Box of random blanks. What you see is what you get - a variety of things. $SOLD in the US

3. Flat Rate Padded Envelope of various pen blank shorts. $11 shipped in the US

4. Block of Vasticola Burl. Lots of cracks/voids that would make it great for casting. 9 3/4" x 2 7/8" x 1 1/4" - $37 shipped

5. Individual pen blanks. ALL SOLD

  1. Stabilized Redwood Burl - $4SOLD
  2. Stabilized Cherry Burl - $5SOLD
  3. Stabilized Chechen Burl - $7SOLD
  4. Stabilized Spalted Hackberry - $5SOLD
  5. Stabilized Crosscut Spalted Maple (one side a little less than 3/4") - $3SOLD
  6. Cherry Burl - $3SOLD
  7. Snakewood - $7SOLD
  8. Curly Purpleheart - $4SOLD
  9. Amboyna Burl - $7SOLD
  10. Red Mallee Burl - $4SOLD

6. Flamed Boxelder lot - some burl, some straight cut, some cross cut. $SOLD

Can I get the dimensions of the cherry burl, the red mallee burl, and the snakewood?

Here are the dimensions. I got dimensions on both of the Cherry Burl blanks - both the stabilized and unstabilized, so you'd have them for whichever of them you're interested in.

Stabilized Cherry Burl - 13/16" to 7/8" square, 7 5/8" long
Cherry Burl - 7/8" square, 5 3/8" long
Red Mallee Burl - 7/8" square, 6 1/4" long between the natural edge, 8 1/4" overall
Snakewood - 3/4" square, 5 1/8" long (does have one corner with some off it as seen in the pic I attached to this post - but will turn out)

Leo, since RustySplinters expressed interest yesterday in a few of the blanks and, after I answered his question, said that he'd like to buy a few of them, I would like to give him first shot at them.

However, I do have more cherry burl - both stabilized and unstabilized and probably some more red mallee burl. I do not have any more snakewood.

I'll pull out some replacement pieces and post a couple pictures for your consideration.

Shipping would be $5 in a small flat rate box.

Here are some other pieces for Leo and Michael (RustySplinters) to consider, per talks in PM.

FBE - $13SOLD

1. Cherry Burl $3.50SOLD
2. Cherry Burl $2.50SOLD (Does have an inclusion that is circled in red in one of the pics that would need a little CA to make sure it doesn't fall off - right now it is secure to the blank.)
3 & 4. Red Mallee Burl $3 eachSOLD (The cut on both pieces is a little wavy as my blade was dull when I cut these and I didn't have a spare on hand. Minimum width at any point on these blanks is 3/4".)
5, 6, & 7. Flamed Boxelder Burl $3 eachSOLD (Shortest piece is 4 3/8". Same notes on the cutting as the Red Mallee Burl.)
8. Stabilized Cherry Burl $5SOLD (Does have a small crack/inclusion that will need some fill - but inclusions and voids are common in burls, very much so in cherry burl.)

If Michael and Leo pass on any of the above, it would be available to anyone else who may be interested. Thanks!

One final round of price drops. Please don't make me consider throwing them in the fire pit - especially since it's getting warm enough now that an evening fire would be a very nice thing to have!

Sprung,

I always hate to see good wood go in the fire BUT the ones that are oily sure do help get the fire going!!

It's true - they do! (Not that I want to be tempted to burn these, lol. These are some good blanks - I just need the shelf and bench space back!)
