I just got my first Gentlemens kits in the mail from BB. I also got the drill bit for the larger tube. That thing scares me! Man it's big. I can't wait to do one of these. My first one will be gold BEB and the second.....I am not sure. Wish me luck.

I had the same reaction and thoughts when I got my first kits! I have yet to make one of them. Good luck!

Shane, the Gent is a nice looking kit, I just found it too big for my hand. Both of the Gents I made were fountain pens, and I did not like the size of the nib, I wanted a finer line. I gave them both to one of my brothers, and he uses them as desk pens when he signs documents at work.

Same here, Shane. I finishing my fourth one, I had two of the blanks blow out on me while drilling, which was my fault. Real nice BOW, too. (Another 2 on the lathe. :>( )
I've started drilling a 7 mm pilot hole, it may not help but no blowouts since. IMHO, the Gent is too big for a pocket pen, but makes a nice desk pen
