Does anyone know of a source for harder lead refill for the workshop/sketch pencil?
I'm used to using a #3 or #4 pencil and find that the lead that comes in the workshop pencil is very soft.

Thanks!

4B is supplied with the components and is fairly soft. Leads are available in (softest) 9B 8B 7B 6B 5B 4B 3B 2B B HB F H 2H 3H 4H 5H 6H 7H 8H 9H (hardest).

A standard #2 lead is equivalent to HB. #3 = H, #4 = 2H

Thanks, Stan. Good of you to post this. Now maybe I'll know what I'm looking for.
I'm not sure if this will help Lenny, or not, but I'm going to start looking at Art Supply stores and Hobby Lobby... etc.

Thanks for the info .... I don't really have anything nearby me .. LOL
But at least when I look I'll know better what I'm looking for ...

It brings up another question ... I wonder if the built in sharpener will handle the harder lead?

Lenny we always sharpened our drafting leads with sandpaper, but I think the stock sharpeners should work if you stayed with an HB - 2H lead
