Well I am trying to work on my segmenting. Had a go at this Triton Rollerball with Paduk and figured walnut. The figured walnut was more of a challenge than I anticipated. In fact I found it more difficult than any burl I have tried so far.

This was also my first go at drilling with a chuck. It improved my accuracy.

Admittedly not a Mark James or a Gisi but step by step.....

The photograph is a work in progress as well.

Jonathan, all elements came to fruition!

All joints are well matched, symmetry is good, colors of timbers are excellent, finish is excellent, nothing to add for suggestions... A "Home Run."

Triton - Very cool.
Padauk - Also very cool
Figured Walnut - Very, very cool (Lessons = Experience; next time will be easier).

I have heard about Gisi Blanks (well deserved)... Never heard about a Mark James Blank ! (Sounds like a nock-off from Wal-Mart).

Very nice results .... my first try with segmenting was actually a 3-dimensional herringbone design .... :)

Well proportioned, and incredibly straight. Keeping segments like this perfectly straight is always the hardest part for me. Well done!
