Fianlly had a chance to get to the lathe this afternoon. My spinning blank has worked up quite nicely! Big Leaf Maple, in a magnifying glass handle, the American Classic from WC. I'm already turning into a snob, thinking about Hmmm, this wood needs all black fittings... I'm pretty proud of it. My son (17yo) even picked it up and proclaimed it "cool". And even that he could use something like it! Now, to go downstairs and glue up the tubes for the pen and pencil, not omitting the potato plugs, and hopefully not getting glue everytwere this time.
One question/problem. The little black end cap--it's loose. I'm thinking a drop or two of CA?
