I got some exotics blanks from the classifieds a wile back. It was a mixed batch I need a name to go with these pens. So take your best guess. Most customers don't know but I like to get it close.

Had to quote, otherwise got an error message. Can't be of much help, but #1 and #3 are both burls. #3 might be DIW burl, or possibly Bolivian rosewood burl, which can also get very dark like that. The color for #1 is about right for amboyna, but not much eye action. The grain is attractive none the less. Very nice pens. Hope someone else can

I'm somewhat certain that #1 is red mallee burl...#2 is padduk (the grain isn't straight enouigh to be cocobolo and its too much red for colobolo)...#3 may be DIWB?

2 is definitely cocobolo
1 & 3 could both be desert ironwood, it comes in that much range of color

1 looks like amboyna to me.
2 looks like cocobolo and 3 looks like it could be DIW or possibly a cherry burl.
Can you take a guess as to who you may have gotten it from? That would help some what.

Ha remember who I got it from. I buy wood allmost as much as you do. [:I]
Can you remember who you got half your stuff from. ;)

Heck I forget the next day who I bought from.

I am making a point to try and mark my wood as I get it.
And I am sticking to mostly my own local woods I collect.

Thanks for the help. I got a name to put on the tag now.
