...me and my chainsaw, we go places and collect things like these...;)

Sorry for the gloat [}:)][}:)][}:)]

3 pieces of Ironwood averaging at 100 pounds each. Far right is another mesquite...quarter piece so you can imagine the trunk it came from is close to 30".

A mesquite base about 80 pounds. Don't you love that color? Picture is right on the actual color.

Speaking of all that mesquite, I am gonna need some more. I took the cigar to work today and sold it and got orders for two more just like it. Which of course I'm happy to make. But it will use my last two mesquite pen blanks. I'd like to get a few bottle stopper sized blanks (like 2x2x3) of it also to make a few humajobbies.

Scott,

Yes I will just don't know how to handle the ironwood. Very hard and I tried milling a small piece (about 2" thick) and my (Shopsmith) bandsaw cannot handle it.

Kevin,
Just shoot me an e-mail as to how many you need. You know the drill [;)]

If you see the small piece on the upper-left corner of that mesquite log...maybe hard to believe but that is a mesquite from same tree just re-sawn a day ago. It is very light in comparison but these mesquite will change into that red color in about 2-3 weeks of intense sun exposure (longer if under shaded areas).

This piece should yield some nice crotch-sections [:D]

Also prepare to be amazed at the quality of the wood you will receive!! Dario, put me on the list for some of the ironwood once you get it cut up. [:p]
