Are the red marks common/uncommon or just bad piece of cocobolo. It's the poorest piece I have used.

Intertesting question. It is darker in person.....It did come out of a package of cocobolo. Was a real dark before it was turned. My concern is the red on the edge.

Intertesting question. It is darker in person.....It did come out of a package of cocobolo. Was a real dark before it was turned. My concern is the red on the edge.


Switch to a white back drop so we can see the color.
First picture looked like tulip wood , 2nd pic looked like coco.


It looks like a end cut just like the very top piece of wood on this chalker .
I kind of like them, if you plan on how you place the end cut pieces it can look pretty cool

I know your not happy, (I get it artist's eye and all!) but I think it's a nice piece on that pen, and I'm sure it will sell!

There is a slight crack on the end. It is my carry piece. Would not sell or give it. I do like it in general. Was my 1st Lever Action

Here's a different batch. Same orange appearance... However it finished up real nice. I love the grain. I like it but prefer coco with a dark rich look.
