Wood blank id

Sometime back a member from Canada, (Vancouver) sent me a few blanks and I have managed to lose the name of the wood.. Its native to the area, yellow with a pleasant odor and has small knots looks like a burl, running though out. It is a member of the pine family. I do remember him saying that is was somewhat scarce in these type of trees.

My guess would be bird's eye maple.

Its too soft for maple altho it does look like it. It is more like a damp pine. I would like to be able to tell the customer what the pen is made from

Elm or willow...I am no expert, just guessing from some timbers I have seen. (It was fun to casually use the word "timber"...made mr feel like an upside down Aussie, just for a moment.)

yellow cedar does sound right I know that he said it grew on Vancouver Island. I smells really good when turned
