Why couldn't I ?

I have a mandrel that is slightly out of round. Looks like near the tail end is slightly bent. Why couldn't I cut it off the length that I need for a closed end pen and use it. Is the chuck that you all use the pin chuck from Fangar?

You would have to mill a flat for the pin and it would only work as a standard pin chuck on a 7mm kit. There is a way to use this to make solid bodied pens but it involves steped holes and your drilling needs to be right on. If you want we can talk on Sat.
