It's not cheap but here's a link for tubing. Could be used as is or cast in PR.

Here is a link to the test one I did. I put it on the back burner as there didnt seem to be much interest. If you want some let me know and I can price and cast them up for you.

Bruce just for FYI those tubes are uni-directional so they wouldnt have the "carbon fiber" appearance that I think most people think of when you say carbon fiber.

I have made carbon fiber blanks. So far in a Cigar pen and Atlas / Polaris. I think I have an extra of each if you are interested. I've been meaning to make more but am waiting for a larger mold. Hopefully my next batch will include more woven colors like red, blue, or yellow.

9317-2

This is a Carbon Fiber and gray/green dyed fiberglass.

9173-2

This is Carbon Fiber alone. The picture doesn't do justice to the way the carbon weave moves with the light.

If you are going to cast it in PR you might as well just buy sleeves not pre-cast tubes, that way you can size them to your pen tube. Just the sleeves do not seem all that expensive from

I have never bought anything from them, I just googled carbon fiber sleeves

Nolan what about the ones below, in the link that holmqer posted? Would any of their selections give the same appearance? Any idea what the unidirectional ones would look like (because they do have some neat colors)?

Yah the colored ones will will look like the green one Joseph posted.
If you look on that page it has good pictures and shows difference between uni-directional and bi-directional. The link is a good one and one of two good sources for this type of product. The other is cst composites. The raw material is reasonable.

Soller Composite is a very good source. That is where I get my Carbon Fiber from. My only comment is that depending on the color you buy and the type of PR you use there might be some slight color bleed into the PR. I had this issue (which is arguably an issue) with the gray/green blank you see above. Jon Soller, the owner, had me send some of the PR I was using to him so he could do some tests. He discovered the same thing but considered it a non issue because of the small volume I purchase, the application I am using it for, and the very slight amount of bleeding present. I have other colors but have not had time to cast them to see if I get any color bleeding.

I use resin from mrfiberglass.

Currently I am working on a tutorial for making CF blanks. I have a little bit of working out to do, then I will post. Thanks Joe for the link. The tubing is way easier.
