I'm looking for some snakewood at a "reasonable" price. I know it's pricey, but I don't want to have to rob a bank to finance it. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go.
Thanks,

If I ever find "affordable' snakewood, I'm keeping it all to myself(serious)[}:)]

Until then, I'll look at those boards that are worth all the machines in the garage combined[:0]

I should point out again that normal sellers offer air dry/green snakewood, ours is treated with pentacryl and kiln dried.

Jay,

Snakewood is probably one of the most wonderful wood out there...that said it is also one of the most difficult to work with due to its notoriety on cracking.

I am not advocating Chitswood's snakewood but seems like they found a fix for that. If all his snakewood works as well the ones that were tested here then it is well worth buying from him. I bought a few snakewood elsewhere for $5.00 a piece and all I ended up with are cracked pieces so they are much more expensive in the long run.
