I am look at kits from CSUSA and see Apprentice and then other kits. for example Apprentice Slimline and the Slimline.

Can someone tell me what the difference is? Is it just the platings??

Thanks

Steve

The "Apprentice" line is lower quality. Plating, transmissions, fit and finish.

If you are making your first pens and want to practice, they are GREAT---friends and family will be happy to have them.

If you are planning on selling your finished pens, probably better to use the higher quality kits.

This is an OPINION---others may differ!!

Mostly the difference is in the style and the plating. The lower priced kits are "fancy" (different style clip and centerband) on most of the finishes you won't see much difference in durability, gold might be a little less durable. Assembly is about the same.
