Friends,

Had life saved by a Cardiologist earlier in the week. He uses a shabby looking nickle silver pen with plain looking wood barrels someone made him, right in the Cardiac Cath lab. Says he MUST have a CROSS refill, says he needs the resistance to keep writing readable.

OK I want to make him a pen that is a knockout in looks using Cross refill.

I would love to make him something that looks like a Majestic Squire.

Any help very much appreciated.

Charlie

Charlie -- sounds like he needs the Cross style Ballpoint for the roller resistance. In that family of ball points, I like the Fisher refills the best.

A euro style pen or an Olympic are two good choices. I would head towards the gold Titanium finish, and a special blank.

Perhaps one of the Brooks Blanks -- or similar

What about psi graduate twist? I believe it takes a cross and is a decent looking pen.

He may also need a slim pen though - if it needs to go in a certain size pocket.

There are about 200 doc's that use my pens...make him something that is more of a thank-you than a refill. Our Chief of Medicine for UCSF, after 6 years, still carries a JGII I made him as a thank you for a conference speech he did for our department. I buy him refills now and then.
Beware of MD's...they either love 'em of loose 'em, no in between.
