What woods go with Satin Gold Hardware?

Bought some satin gold kits and I am trying to figure out what woods go well with this finish. What woods do you use with this finish?
I tried a kit with some pheasantwood and it seemed to work well.

Brad, that looks reasonable. I have used satin gold with birdseye maple with good results as well.

Any dark wood or acrylics looks good with a satin finished kit but don't look for the plating to last very long.

I made 3 pens with satin gold. The plating wore off the first one I sold in about 2 months. I finally gave away the other 2 because people kept asking how durable the plastic was. I like satin nickel, but really think satin gold is cheesy looking.
