What wood was used in this pen?

I purchased this from Woodcraft. I drilled it on the lathe but still the pattern didn't come out that well but my main question is what wood was used in it.
I think
Padauk, Redheart, and Maple. The brown wood is a strange color. It's like a light
Charcoal color.

guessing from the other segmented blanks they sell at woodcraft, I'm sure it's some combination of maple, purpleheart, redheart, padauk, or walnut. It's hard to tell exactly from that pic but that's what most of their segmented blanks include.
