At what RPM do you drill your blanks? I have been using 1390 on my Ryobi, but recently have been having problems with my bits binding in the blanks, even with a new bit and slow feed rate. :at-wits-end:

Found my problem

It's amazing the things you learn when you read the instruction manual. One of the spindles on my drill press was loose. Tightened it up. No more binding.
Feel kind of foolish.

What type blank(wood, PR, segmented, metal), is the bit catching at the cutting edge or along the flutes, any lube used, what happens to the blank when the catch occurs. More info needed.

Wrong questions. Congratulations on the cure

Ctubbs,
You're right. I did not provide enough info. I only work with wood blanks. No lube. It seemed to be catching along the flutes. However, since I tightened my spindle the problem seems to have gone away, at least for now. Thanks for your input.
