To the more experienced turners:

What is the better looking pen a cross-cut or angled-cut blank?

Thanks for your comments

Bill,
When making a choice for cutting, with, angle, cross pen blanks the considerations are many.
Many a bland blank can leap into really exciting pens.
Angle cut improves every time.
Cross cut improves always.
My suggestion is to take a look at the pens on sites for sale and form your own opinion, base it on comparisons of the same species.
Members own galleries are full of examples as well.
Be aware that there is a difference in the degree of difficulty when turning across blanks. They can be cranky but sharp tools and extra care pay dividends.
As a family we always responded yes to two or more alternates,it would appear that occurs elsewhere.
Take care and enjoy. Peter

I don't like either. Straight for me.
Whichever you choose, keep in mind that cross or angle cut means you are basically doing bowl turning on end grain. Easy to mess up, harder than spindle to do right.
