Waxing Mandrels Question

I've read some post that reference waxing the mandrel in order to prevent the blanks from sticking when using CA. Is there a specific type of wax that is used, and how well does it work?

I use carnauba wax...works well for me.

Haven't tried others though so can't comment on those.

A very thin coat of completely generic, cheaper than actual Vasaline, petroleum jelly works great for me.

Johnsons paste wax works great.

I simply rub on some candle wax, preferably the tea candle variety that are so cheap.

I use my left-over Renaissance wax, since I use TSW, Ren wax goes on bushings, mandrels and lathe bed ways.

Do be carefull though, my first attempt at pink ivory, I waxed the bushings and the soft wood picked up some discoloration from the wax. Could be the wood, could be I put on too much wax, could be both. Just be careful with soft woods and wax.
