Okay my photography is so great, but I thought I'd post this pic here since I got the idea from here. One is the pen the way it comes from walmart, the other is after I turned a piece of curly maple.

NIce job on the adaptation.
I have "eyed" these pens for a modification but have had Zebra refills leak in the past.Since a standard Parker refill doesn't fit them I didn't bother to pursue it.
I do realize there are many who like the Zebra line of pens.
Have you considered an acrylic blank for the top since the bottom is plastic?
Keep thinking outside the box!

Good idea, an acrylic blank would probably look good on this. I've used Zebra pens for years and never had any problem. However I stopped using them when I started turning my own pens. Maybe their quality is going down hill.
