Hi everyone,
With these pens, can the lower section be taken apart to replace the black plastic part with a turned piece of wood? Do they come apart easily enough or is it almost like ruining the pieces trying to get them apart?

Thanks for your thoughts

I recommend taking one of the chrome kits and giving it a try. Let us know what you find. I know the clip end comes apart, because I had to dismantle one last night.

I too had concerns with the enamel, but Lou Metcalf told me he has sold many of them and hasn't had a problem.

Thanks guys.
Thanks Mike, that pretty much answers my question about it.

Chris, you answered while I was answering / eating. Why do you recommend a chrome kit instead of one of the others?

My main reason for recommending the chrome was the price. I have bought about a dozen chrome kits, but I just started making the sierra. I also like the Rhodium/Black Titanium kits as well, but if you are going to experiment, the chrome is the most cost effective.
