I've always admired the looks of the Wall Street pen kits from Woodcraft, but the kits are too pricy for my taste...currently on "sale" for $9.50 each...for a cheap cross refill kit...ouch. Does anyone know of a less expensive source?

BTW, here's a really nice group of them, made by penworks...good job!

I went to the wood craft site and looked at the instructions.
Using a "longwood" kit and making up the ends out ofAfrican Blackwood, ebony or black Corian I could see how it is possible to dupicate the appearance.
Let's face it Cross is getting paid for the tag they incluce with the kit.
I've owned Cross pens and never really been impressed by them.As a matter of fact when I visit stores I purposely look for pen displays, note how much they are selling Machine punched pens for and that usually opens the door for a sale.
I tell them that my pens use a "cross type mechanism" and the works are 100% guaranteed.(by me, I'll replace it)
