Wall Street II pens turn tightly - any idea why?

I've got a couple of Wall Street II pens that are extremely tight. I'm not sure why this happens but I'm open to suggestions. If anybody knows what I'm doing wrong, I'll certaily stop doing that. And if anybody got any ideas how to fix these.

Basically the pens works EXCEPT they are VERY hard to twist.

You need to be sure there is no glue in the tubes. This will cause the Sierra to turn to tight.

I'm not sure how you get the tube upside down on a WSII (Sierra).


Pentex is right-on. Use a fat drill bit to ream out any glue inside the tube (don't bind the bit up or you will crack the blank). Or you can use the threaded end of your pen mandrel to scrape it out.

I bought an assortment of dental tools and ground one so that I could twist in inside of tubes just to remove glue. I have also started using play dough in the ends of the tubes to stop glue from entering the tubes. This takes less time then removing glue.

Ends that are not perfectly square can also be the cause of this.

The Play dough in the tubes is a great tip. It is saving me a ton of extra work, thanks to whoever turned me on to that one.After i clean out the dough I use a long piece of threaded rod and run it through the inside of the tube a few times and am on my way.
