My very first pen ever! Any advice on what I could do next time would be awesome! Thanks! I'm not to sure how to post a pic hope this worked!

No pic. You may want to try again but I suggest moving it to the "Show Off Your Pen!" forum. The Penturning forum is for discussing with the procedure and techniques in making a pen.
