Upgrade?

I have noticed while perusing pen kit suppliers, that some of them have the word "Upgrade" in their kits. What an "Upgrade" means? Is it something to make other kits better, or are they full complete kits using some "upgraded" elements?
I'm asking this because it's not clear to me by reading the descriptions.
