Besides using foam to apply CA when finishing, you can also use a small piece to smooth your CA around the brass tubes before inserting them into a blank. Additionally, put a 3/4" by 3/4" square of the foam in either end of a blank before you seal your ends with thin CA. 3/4 by 3/4 works for a 7mm tube. Will probably have to be larger with a larger blank.
